APC KIT 66

I’m now officially announcing, and taking orders for my new Atari Punk Console Kit. I’ve been running workshops with these for some time, and have gone through three PCB and component revisions before I settled on this one. I’ve already helped people make 100 of these, most of which I was there for. So I had a solid understanding of where most people needed help, which I used when writing the instructions. You can also check out some of my examples here.

I currently only have 35 kits left. You can buy one now for $25, which you should order quickly if you want one before the end of the year. I’m including free shipping till the 25th, or till I run out. After that you will have to wait till after I get back from 26c3 to get one (or buy one there). Until then, I will be shipping out the orders daily. If you go through to the APC page, you can also buy just the PCBs, or a super basic kit for quite a bit less.

Also, I’ve released the PCB files under theCreative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. You may download those here (you will need Eagle CAD). Under the license you can use the PCB files for both personal, and commercial usage with attribution and release of any modified versions. That means you can put together kits for your own workshops and the like. I designed the PCB to be easy to make single sided. You will just need to bridge pin 5 and 8 with a wire.

In the coming months I will be doing a number of things. I plan on doing some video instructions, as well as some videos on hacks. Simple things at first (like building a photo Therimin), and then some advanced stuff later (like driving dual color LEDs for each output). If you have any questions you can email me at jimmie@this website.

I’m going to order your APC Kit but I’m looking to plug it into my amp. Is there anyway I could order the kit ready for an amp? Such as a 6.5mm Jack instead of a 3.5mm, or would that just take up to much room?

Hi, I received one of your apc kits for christmas and I was wondering, since I am a beginner at hobby electronics and soldering, would a IC socket be good idea for protecting the 556 from sloppy soldering?
